Workshop Overview Instructor Tom Cook taught welding at Cornell University for over 20 years and he owns and operates a welding and fabrication shop in a rural farm area of upstate New York. Tom has offered this program throughout the United States since 1985. Who Should Attend Welders with any level of experience will find this workshop extremely beneficial. Supervisors and superintendents who desire to know more about welding will also benefit from attending. This is a live-action program and will cover practical welding techniques to improve job safety efficiency and productivity. What Students Need to Bring Arc and Oxy welding shields (shades 10 and 5 respectively) gloves a challenging project or one that has been difficult (this could be a task an equipment setup or any welding related problem).

PASER Training The Center for Technology and Training will be conducting annual PASER training on behalf of the Michigan Transportation Asset Management Council (TAMC) for the current data collection season. Who Needs To Attend? Anyone who intends to participate in the TAMC PASER condition data collection during the current year on either the federal aid or non federal aid system and expects to be reimbursed by the TAMC for their effort must attend the PASER Classroom Training Session. New raters or others that did not actively rate in the previous two years must also attend the PASER Webinar Training. Note - New raters need to attend the PASER Webinar prior to attending the Classroom Training.

A basic understanding of the factors that affect traffic safety including signs, signals and roadway operations and design characteristics can help you ensure you are making smart decisions about traffic safety.

This workshop will provide local agencies and their consultants with key information to focus on during the 2013 construction season. Knowledge of these new or changing focus areas and common concerns will help local agencies achieve smoother project delivery and closeout. The webinar will also discuss common issues and concerns of MDOT and FHWA staff for administration of local agency federal-aid construction projects. These focus areas will be explained by experts representing FHWA and MDOT in a format that allows local agencies to interact and have questions answered.
